Communication is a medium through which we share knowledge, ideas or thoughts with others. In today’s era, it is highly imperative for all of us to have good communication skills. With an effective communication skill, we can interact with a large number of people based globally. It is the most ideal medium for transferring information from one place to another. It can be done verbally, visually or in written form. Needless to say, verbal communication means you have to use your voice so as to educate or inform others. Besides, using books, magazine, websites (blog and articles), you can convey the information in a non-verbal manner to the masses. In addition to this, through catchy ads, logos, charts, and maps, you can capture the attention of the onlookers. In simple words, you can visually communicate with them.
In order to maintain the social dynamics of society, an individual needs to be a good communicator. Regular interaction with other people can help in identifying the things happening around the world or within society. It has been seen that the people who have the better listening ability will also have better communication skills. Hence, it is important to be a good listener so as to become a good communicator. Listening is one of the aspects of developing communication skills. The primarily objective communication is to increase the use of language in a natural environment.
Children develop communication skills in natural surroundings. For instance, by making eye contact with their parents or by listening to their words or recognizing the faces of their siblings, they slowly develop an interpersonal relationship. Based on their experiences, children learn communication, interpersonal and social skills. Hence, it is important to inculcate these skills in them in order to make them more socialized, attentive and alert about the changes happening within their surroundings. Moreover, a better communication skill will also allow them to understand the ideas of different people and different disciplines including economics and sociology.
