She was a drug addict and an alcoholic. She’d truck my sibling and me from state to state to keep us away from my father, and we were in poverty for a long time. I was finally able to move in with my father who gave my brother and I a stable and caring home. We are there for each other, we love each other wholly. I can’t explain how much my life changed for the better because I was able to get a decent education, have a stable home life, a parent who had dinner ready on the table every night and always had a kind word to say or some great advice handy. My dad was a terrible person when I was growing up. He was mean, abusive, aggressive, judgmental asshole and an overall terrible father. He was overtly racist and sexist, just a nasty bigoted person overall. He just seemed to hate everyone and I never understood him. My parents divorced when I was 11 and he didn’t get custody.
